The purpose of the Miami Dade College Honors Band is to provide a service of extraordinary artistic experience to the music students of Miami Dade County and to serve as a recruiting event for Miami Dade College.
The Annual Miami Dade College High School Honor Band Festival will be held at The Miami Dade College Kendall Campus on March 13, 14 and 15th, 200. The Miami Dade College Honor Band Festival is an event developed for the purpose of recognizing the achievements of exceptional high school musicians. We will audition and award to deserving students the Miami Dade College Concert & Jazz Ensemble Scholarships. All High School Seniors, both music majors and non-majors are eligible for these awards.
The Festival weekend will include a Final Concert by the Miami Dade Honors Band under the direction of Conductor, Dr. Shelby Chipman.

Thursday, March 13, 2008 @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm (First Rehearsal)
Friday, March 14, 2008 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (Second Rehearsal)
Saturday, March 15, 2007 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (Final Rehearsal & Scholarship Auditions )
Saturday, March 15, 2007 @ 7:30 pm – Concert
Instrumentation
10 Flutes, 20 Clarinets, 4 Oboes, 4 Bassoons, 8 Saxophones, 2 Trumpets, 8 French Horns, 8 Trombones 4 Euphoniums, 6 Tubas and 8 Percussions.
Application Deadline
Please complete all application by Friday, February 29th. Participants will be notified by Friday, March 7th.
