Electronic Music of Lawrence W. Moore

Lawrence W. Moore began his musical career by studying a BA in Music at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA. He majored in three concentrations, saxophone performance, theory-composition, and jazz studies. As a saxophonist, he was a performer of both jazz and art music. After completing his undergraduate, he continued his education at Penn State University where he studied a MM in saxophone performance.

He also worked part-time performing in a variety of bands including a wide range of small jazz ensembles, an Afro-Caribbean band named AfriCarib, and a funk band named Phat Albert. He continues composing in his own time, focusing on electronic world music. He started his own production company called The Wayfarer Project, which he continues to lead to this day.

At Penn State, he decided to further his education in Composition and studied an MM in Composition/Theory. While he was most at home with electronic music, he also composed for chamber ensembles and orchestra. After completing the two MM degrees at Penn State, he moved to Miami, FL to study an MM in Media Writing and Production at the University of Miami. This degree helped him to solidify his studio recording skills and further his compositional interests into composing for various forms of media.

In 2002, he began teaching in the Music, Theatre, and Dance department at Miami Dade College. He enjoys teaching theory and music appreciation courses, because his love for music is very broad. In 2003, he began teaching in the Commercial Music department at Miami Dade College, where he continues to teach Sound Recording, MIDI, and Music Business courses.

Since 2003, he has also been a faculty member of the University of Miami, where he teaches Digital Synthesis, Multimedia for Musicians, and Electronic Music Ensemble. The variety of experiences that he has had in music has given him an eclectic voice as a composer. He composes music for The Wayfarer Project which is released under the artist name, Wayfarer, and compose music for my own individual concerts.

This is not a play about the horrors or the violence of war. It is, rather, a study of the humanity of its victims and witnesses.

The Studio Theatre is located at M113 in the Martin and Pat Fine Center for the Arts.

The house opens one-half hour before curtain time. Plan to arrive early to assure seating. No one will be admitted after the play begins or seating capacity has been met.

Latin Composers Piano Recital

The music department at Miami Dade College is presenting a Latin Composers Piano Recital featuring current and former students as well as faculty members on Tuesday, October 14th at 7:30 p.m. in the McCarthy Auditorium in room 6120.

Carlos Molina & Friends Guitar Concert

MDC will provide a unique opportunity for students and the general public to see some of the music department's finest and internationally acclaimed guitarists perform at the Kendall Campus. Such artist include classical guitarist Jose Adan, Juan Vera and Carlos Molina, and jazz guitarist Tom Lippincott, Mitch Farber and Sandy Poltarack featuring Matt Bonelli and Raphael Valencia on bass and Jack Ciano on drums.

The Music, Theatre and Dance Department of Miami Dade College's Kendall Campus presents a compilation of one-act plays written by students and alumni. These one-act plays are directed by students under the guidance of Deborah C. Mello.
