Congratulations to the Kendall Campus Jubilation Dance Ensemble
Congratulations are in order for the Miami Dade College, Kendall Campus Jubilation Dance Ensemble, under the direction of Michelle Grant-Murray, performed at the American College Dance Festival Southeastern Regional Conference at Middle Tennessee University in Murfreesboro Tennessee.
Britani Edwards and Brittany Williams performed a choreography entitled: "Sisterhood, a work depicting two young women struggling for survival in an un-flourished society". The duo were selected to perform in the " Gala Concert " from among hundreds of dancers from around the United States. The work premiered in October 2008 in the Miami Dade College Kendall Campus "Emerging Artist Dance Showcase" and has been performed on numerous occasions throughout the Miami Community.
MDC-Kendall, Lighting Designer, Daniel Perez, created a visual masterpiece incorporating the vivid illumination creating an organic mood of ambiance, unity and emergence. Costumes were designed by Michelle Grant Murray and Courtney Harris, created a visceral image of nature. The work was adjudicated by Ursula Pain (Slippery Rock University), Maureen Keefe (Jacob's Pillow & SUNY Brockport), Mark Borchlet (Southern Methodist University).
